Ikhasi Agri Farming Pty Ltd has over 12 years of experience in sugar cane farming and forestry management having benefitted from the support of Mondi Zimele support development which has successfully sustained the organisation over the years.
Ikhasi Agri Farming Pty Ltd operates in a complex and challenging agricultural environment facing economic constraints that are delaying development in the forestry and processing sectors namely,the high costs, delays associated with issuing of water licences; skills development and technology transfer to new forest growers and beneficiaries of land reform; investment finance; and insecurity of land tenure. Furthuremore, demand for raw material far supply and this has resulted in the closure of some downstream processing industries. It is against this context that Ikhasi Agri Farming Pty Ltd exists to add value in providing services and products that seek to provide solutions to address some of the adverse socio-economic challenges such high unemployment and poverty rates.
Since 2008, date Ikhasi Pty Ltd workforce has grown to 134 people and the business has received a number of safety awards and continues to grow from strength to strength.
